Flag Football Italia – Players to Watch

Hi Everybody! Before bringing you the recap for the first 2 weeks of the Italian League action, we thought it would be nice to give you a heads up on the “players to watch” for the 2017 Italian Flag football Season.

So, in no particular order… Here we go!

He’s back with the team that saw him dominate the Italian league for 6 straight seasons after a year playing for the other side of the Tevere River with the Rome Raiders. Of course, guess who won the league last year… It’s no surprise that Massimo has been the best Italian QB for quite a while now and therefore it’s definitely not a shock he’s in this list… Will he continue to win wherever he plays? We’ll see, the competition is fierce and taking down the best is always a push towards doing more than you can…

Yes, he is THAT Kris Durham, the former Detroit Lions WR. His connection with Tommaso Monardi could bring a lot of heat to all the defenses they face, and his combination of size and speed definitely gives him a very big edge versus his competition. Will he be the missing piece of the puzzle for the Nador team in order to jump into title contention?

Offensive MVP of the last U-15 Euro Championship, Leonardo Franchi is the main weapon of the Academy – which is exactly that Italian U-15 team that won it all in Belgrade last year. Don’t be fooled by the kid’s young age, he’s tall and fast and most of all has a knack for adjusting to the ball very easily. I have a feeling he will not feel the change in competition and will keep making plays in the “big guys’ league”.

Despite lacking a bit of height, Mora is very close to being the best center in Italy, and he definitely rivals with Fabrizio Rossi for that title. He’s unbelievably fast and can get downfield in an instant. On top of being a great offensive weapons, he also holds his own in defense by playing DB. Definitely a complete player that is making his way onto the National team, too.

We will update you during the season as more players will jump under the spotlight! Also remember to look out for the recap of week 1 & 2!

Hi Sara! I’ve forwarded your details to our Italian correspondent. He recommended you contact Mattia Mignoli from the Raiders Rome for more information 🙂
